Madame Brussels’ address is 59 Bourke Street, but in true Melbourne fashion the building looks nothing like a bar, so keep an eye out for the subtle sign. Head into the building and make your way all the way to the top, where you’ll find the garden themed bar. You can either walk all the way up 7 flights of stairs or easily take the lift.

We can highly recommend you sample Madame’s snack menu if you are starting to feel a bit hungry by now.

The famous poached chicken, chive and mayo toasted sandwiches served with lemon wedges is simply to die for, or if you feel like something sweet, the smooth chocolate fondue of French 70% cocoa pearls is a dream!

Madame Brussels Lane, as well as this bar, are named after the Melbourne brothel owner, Madame Brussels, who owned 8 high-class brothels during the late nineteenth century. How scandalous!
